The Goa board of secondary and higher secondary education comes under the act “The Goa, Daman and Diu Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Act, 1975.”

The Objectives:

The main objectives of this board is to provide secondary and higher secondary education to students and provide the best of all strategies and commitments to expand their knowledge. It also aims to provide adequate facilities for educational and professional advancements for the students.

Major Functionalities:

Unlike all the educational boards in India, this board has to perform various functions and regulations in India. The list of functions include:

• We grant and withdraw recognition to the Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools;
• We advise the government on matters of policy relating to secondary and higher secondary education in general and on the following matters in particular:
  • We are also ensuring a uniform pattern of education;
  • We are also maintaining of a uniform standard of education in Secondary and Higher Secondary school;
  • We are also engaged in the co-ordination between the national policies and the policies of the state in respect of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education;
  • We are also engaged in the co-ordination between primary.
• We are also aiming to lay down guiding principles regarding curricula and syllabi for the entire We are also aiming to secondary and higher secondary courses and to prepare the detailed syllabi for all standards of secondary and higher secondary education
• We are also aiming to advise the Government in standard requirement in amenities required for secondary and higher secondary schools;
• We are also aiming to prescribe and prepare text-books for all standards of secondary and higher secondary education;
• We are also aiming to prescribe conditions for admission of regular and private candidates to the final examinations;
• We are also aiming to declare the results of the candidates at the final examinations conducted by it;
