The Gujarat secondary and higher secondary education was started in the year 1972.The work of appointing the Chairman and Deputy chairman is done by the state government.

We help in registering new Secondary schools and monitoring their performance on a continuous basis

We help in providing developmental guidance about school result.

We help in organizing training for teachers and principals

We help in facilitating educational research

We help in framing the Rules & Regulations for school management and ensuring their effective implementation

We help in devising ideal, credible examination and evaluation & verification systems, and their periodical improvement

We help in identifying and encouraging exceptional students through awards and scholarships

We help in infusing futuristic thinking into the State's academic vision, and We help in initiating specific follow-up measures (for instance, to integrate Gujarat's students with the Information Technology-enabled global village, the Board has introduced Computer Studies among regularcurricula).
