An airman is a person who selects his profession as a soldier in army. An airman is either a technical person or a non-technical person. An airman is responsible for the maintenance and the testing of various flying and air crafting equipments. There are many career opportunities in this profession. Many colleges and universities provide this course only to train the students as an airman professional. The pay scale given to the airman is as per the industry standards with various allowances . To become an airman, you need 60% marks in 10+2 examination with major subjects such as:- Physics, Maths and English. The age criteria should be in between 17 years to 22 years. The nationality of the airman should be Indian. Only male candidates can join this profession.
There are two different eligibility criteria to become a technical and non-technical airman.
To become a technical airman, you need an MSC /MA in class ii. An airman in this profession is liable to work on the maintenance of ground equipments. The eligibility criterion to become a non technical airman is the passing of non-matriculation exam with 60% aggregate. Now to become an airman, you are supposed to look for the advertisements and vacancies in this field and fill up the form. There are written examinations that are taken. By clearing the examination candidates are called for the interview and then they have to clear the medical fitness test. Then, they are called for the training which is a 26 weeks training test. After the training session gets over they are posted in various parts of India. You are responsible to study the aircrafts and various other equipments in this profession.
The starting salary given to the airman starts from Rs 5,200 as a monthly stipend. It further goes on increasing with the increase in the experience and position. It exceeds till 50,000 per month.
