North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (or NERIST) is a science and technology higher education institute in Nirjuli, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE) is conducted by the institute in three stages: NEE-I, NEE-II, and NEE-III for admissions to various modules of technical courses in the institute.
Candidates can appear for the entrance examination at various centers located in the North Eastern States of India: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam. Meghalaya. Manipur. Mizoram. Nagaland. Sikkim & Tripura. The selection of candidates is done in order of merit under various reservation categories.
NEE – I for Base Module (Certificate Course) (for Class X passed candidates)
NEE –II
NEE – III for B. Tech degree in Engg & Technology (Technology stream) (for Diploma holders in AE, CE, ECE, EE, & ME and having 60% marks considering the aggregate marks of all the three years taken together and NERIST Diploma holder.
Mathematics: Vector Algebra, Trigonometry, Theory of Equation, Sequence and Series, Matrices and Determinants, Differential Calculus, Complex Numbers, Analytical Geometry
Chemistry: Thermodynamics, Solid States, Organic Nitrogen Compounds, Ethers, Electro, Chemistry, D and F Block Elements, Coordination Chemistry, Carbonyl Compounds, Alcohols
Physics: Nuclear Physics, Electrostatics, Electromagnetic Waves, Electromagnetic Induction, Current Electricity, Communication System, Atomic Physics
Biology: Structure and Function – Plants, Structure and Function – Animals, Reproduction, Growth and Movement in Plants, Reproduction and Development in Humans, Genetics and Evolution, Ecology and Environment, Diversity in Living World, Cell: The Unit of Life; Structure and Function, Biotechnology and its Applications, Biology and Human Welfare
The paper pattern is similar for NEE-I & NEE III:
One question paper of 150 marks with three sections and of three hours’ duration. All questions are objective with multiple-choice answers. For every wrong answer, 25% (¼th) of the marks carried by that question will be deducted.
For NEE-II there are two different modes of question papers:
NEE-II (PCMB) for candidates aspiring for both Technology and Forestry streams.
NEE-II (Vocational) for candidates aspiring for both Technology stream and Forestry stream).
NEE-II (PCMB) for candidates aspiring for Diploma Module in Engineering/Technology (Technology stream) or Degree Module in Forestry (Forestry stream)
