AIMS entrance test is conducted by the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kerala. It conducts its Medical Sciences Entrance Exam known as AIMS for admission into various Medical Courses offered by it. It is one of the common Medical Entrance Exam in India and is not to be confused with AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) which is also a Medical Institute
The candidate should have passed the 12th standard exams in the first attempt from any State Higher Secondary Board or equivalent The candidate must have secured at least 60% marks in English and 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Qualifying NRI's and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) from foreign universities should submit an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Candidates who are appearing for the 12th standard exams are also eligible for the test. The candidate should be at least 17 years of age and maximum 23 years of age at the time of admission.
AIMS entrance syllabus is based on Physics, Chemistry Biology, English subjects of 10+2 examination and general knowledge . The syllabus is approved by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (University) and is in line with the directives of the Medical Council of India.
AIMS entrance paper consists of 200 multiple choice objective questions to be answered in 3 Hours.
