The Indian Veterinary Research Institute conducts research on livestock. The institute conducts the entrance exam annually for admission to PhD veterinary courses.

In the IVRI PhD entrance test, candidates have to appear for written test and a personal interview. The test also takes into account the candidates’ scores in Master’s and Bachelor’s exams.
Candidates have 3 hours to complete the test and the questions will be objective with multiple choice answers. The paper is divided into 2 sections:
Part A – this section has questions to test the candidates’ English language skills and General knowledge, current affairs, etc.
Part B – This sections has questions from each of the relevant subjects that the candidates’ wish to choose for doing their do a PhD.
