Note: Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the personal interview.

Eligibility Conditions

For Teaching Position

• Professor (Chemistry / Economics / Mathematics / Microbiology / History / Life Science)
  • PhD degree in the concerned / relevant discipline from a recognized University
  • Should have published high quality of workwith a minimum of 10 publications as books / research / policy papers
  • Minimum 10 years of teaching experience in University / College or experience in Research at the University / National level institutions / industries
  • Should have contributed in various educational innovation, design of new curricula & courses and technology
  • Must have the minimum score as specified in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) set out in the UGC Regulations of 2010 in Appendix III
• Associate Professor (Computer Science / Education / Electronics and Telecommunication / Mathematics / Life Science / Social Work / Sociology / Tribal Studies Centre)
  • PhD degree in the concerned / relevant discipline with good academic record from a recognized University
  • Master’s Degree in the relevant disciplines with minimum 55% of marks in aggregate from a recognized University / Institute
  • Minimum 8 years of teaching experience on a position of Assistant professor in University / College
  • Should have published high quality of work with a minimum of 5 publications as books / research / policy papers
  • Should have contributed in various educational innovation, design of new curricula & courses and technology
  • Must have the minimum score as specifiedin the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the UGC Regulations of 2010 in Appendix III
• Assistant Professor (Computer Science / Chemistry / Mass Communication / Philosophy / Commerce / Physics)
  • Master’s Degree in the relevant disciplines with minimum 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized University / Institute
  • Candidates should have qualified NET / SLET / SET conducted by the UGC/CSIR
  • Candidates having PhD degree are exempted from the condition of qualifying the NET / SLET / SET examinations

For Non-Teaching Positions

• Hindi Translator
  • Master’s degree in Hindi / English withEnglish / Hindi as a main subject from a recognized University / Institute
  • Diploma / Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa from a University / Institute or minimum 3 years of working experience in the relevant field
  • Candidates should be below the age of 30 years
• Hindi Typist
  • Should pass in 10+2 or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board
  • Should have Hindi Speed of 25 WPM
  • Good knowledge of Computer Applications
  • Candidates should be below the age of 25 years
• Assistant
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University / Institute
  • Good knowledge of Computer Applications
  • Candidates should be below the age of 28 years
• Lower Division Clerk (LDC)
  • Passed 10+2 or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board / University
  • Good knowledge of Computer Applications
  • Candidates should be below the age of 28 years
• Carpenter
  • Polytechnic Diploma / ITI qualification in relevant discipline from a recognized Institute
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in the relevant area
  • Candidates should be below the age of 28 years
• Upper Division Clerk (UDC)
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized University / Institute
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience as a Lower Division Clerk
  • Candidates should be below the age of 28 years
• Personal Assistant (PA)
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized University / Institute
  • Should have Shorthand speed of minimum 100 WPM and Typing speed of minimum 30 WPM
  • Minimum 3 years of Secretarial Experience
  • Good knowledge of Computer Applications
  • Good command over English language
  • Candidates should be below the age of 28 years

• For Teaching Posts: Rs 450 (General / OBC) & Rs 50 (Postal charges for SC / ST / PWD)
• For Non-Teaching Posts: Rs 350 (General / OBC) & Rs 50 (Postal charges for SC / ST / PWD)

How To Apply:

• Candidates can also obtain the application form in-person directly from the office of Section Officer (Academic Coordination-II), Assam University, Raja Rammohan Roy Administrative Building, Silchar - 788011 on the reverse payment of Rs 400 / Rs 300 / Rs 50
• Candidates applying through downloaded form are required to pay the application fee in the form of DD of Rs 450 / Rs 350 / Rs 50drawn in the favor of Finance Officer, Assam University, Silchar, payable at UCO Bank, Silchar (Branch Code 2005) or State Bank of India, Silchar (Branch Code 7061)
• Application form duly complete in all respect along with the DD should be submitted to The Registrar, Assam University, Raja Rammohan Roy Administrative Building, Silchar (Assam) - 788011
• Candidates should mention the Application for the post of __________ & Advertisement No___________ on the envelope in which the form would be sent
