British Council Scotland announces 3 scholarships for students with gifted literature and creative writing skills as well as who belong to Commonwealth countries to attend the Scottish Universities' International Summer School (SUISS). The SUISS will be held in July and August 2014.
The summer school will offer 3 courses in text and context covering British and Irish literature from 1,900 to the present and another course in creative writing.
The literature courses offer extensive examination of theoretical approaches to modernism, Scottish and contemporary literature, whereas the creative writing course will allow the students to enhance their personal writing portfolio.
SUISS falls under University of Edinburgh that offers students outstanding facilities of education and accommodation.
The Commonwealth Scholarships provided by British Council Scotland will have 2 two-week literature scholarships and one four-week creative writing scholarship in the year 2014.
The Scholarship fund will cover the summer school's entire course and accommodation fees, including the cost of all tuition, accommodation, most meals, a social and cultural programme and full library service and other facilities of Edinburgh University. However, the scholarships will not provide the travel expenses or cash.
Eligibility Condition
The students from undergraduate or postgraduate students belonging to Commonwealth countries are eligible to apply.
