The application forms for the Common Aptitude Test for English (CATE) will be available from May 16 for all its English honors aspirants this year. The forms will be available at twenty-one colleges of the university till May 26, while CATE is scheduled to be conducted on June 5.
All these twenty-one colleges will admit students on the basis of their CATE scores and Class XII marks with 70% and 30% weightage respectively. While Lady Shri Ram College for Women has finally consented to be a part of CATE, four other colleges- Kirori Mal College, Janaki Devi Mahavidyalaya, Rajdhani College and Vivekananda College has come on board this year. Nearly 1000 seats will be up for grabs in these twenty-one colleges.
The department of English is also starting dedicated helplines for CATE aspirants this year. It will have five mobile numbers as helplines which will be functioning from 9 am to 5 pm every day and the numbers shall be put on the DU website by Wednesday.
