Delhi University (DU) is considering to restrict the applications of aspirants, as they will be allowed only to apply to 10 colleges out of 65 and for 6 courses out of 34 at maximum from the coming 2014 season.
Candidates will also be able to change college only once during admissions.
The proposed reforms also include that DU will not accept colleges to enroll students beyond the number of seats sanctioned for the specific course, in that particular college, as told by DU Administration.
These changes also include no-denial policy for Gap year aspirants. Students who have gap in the year of passing 10+2 or those wishing to change their course mid-way and want to continue graduation from DU will be allowed to do so. The age will also not be pre-set by the college while enrolling applicants and the college will not be able to refuse entry to any aspirant because of his/her gap years or age.
The cut-offs will now be based on the best of 3 subjects instead of 4. Until now, cutoffs in DU were being calculated on the aggregate in best-of-four subjects, which included one language as well. Now, if proposal is approved the cut-offs are likely to be based on only best score in 3 subjects. Also, vocational course students will have to deduct their 10 marks while calculating the best of four/ three aggregates as per the new changes.
