All the eligible candidates are invited for the posts of Project Scientist. Recruitment for the posts of Project Scientists in various categories is to be made on contract basis under the Project “Hydrothermal Studies”, implemented by the Ministry of Earth Sciences through National Centre for Antarctic & Ocean Research (NCAOR), Goa.

Note

  • The assignment is initially for a period one year or till the completion of the Project, whichever is earlier.
  • The place of posting shall be at National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research (NCAOR), Headland Sada, Goa - 403 804 and Earth System Science Organization, New Delhi - 110 003. The posts are purely temporary and on a project mode basis initially for a period of one year.
  • Selection will be made through walk-in-interview, scheduled to be conducted on  17th Jan, 2012 (from 10.00 am onwards).

Eligibility Conditions

For Project Scientist-D

  • Should have obtained Master’s Degree in Geology / Applied Geology or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 60% marks at Post Graduation level
  • Should have seven years of academic / R&D experience after Post Graduation
  • Should have specialization in igneous petrology / petrogenesis and demonstrable expertise in studies of marine / terrestrial hydrothermal mineralization

For Project Scientist-D

  • Should have obtained Master’s Degree in Chemistry / Marine Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 60% marks at Post Graduation level
  • Should have seven years of academic / R&D experience after Post Graduation
  • Should have specialization in analytical chemistry and proven track record in inorganic / organic chemical analyses of soil and water samples

For Project Scientist-C

  • Should have obtained Master’s Degree in Oceanography / Marine Sciences / Marine Geology or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 60% marks at Post Graduation level
  • Should have three years of academic / R&D experience after Post Graduation
  • Should have specialization in sedimentary geochemistry and demonstrable expertise in studies of marine hydrothermal mineralization

For Project Scientist-C

  • Should have obtained Master’s Degree in Chemistry / Marine Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 60% marks at Post Graduation level
  • Should have three years of academic / R&D experience after Post Graduation
  • Should have specialization in analytical chemistry and proven track record in inorganic / organic chemical analyses of soil and water samples

For Project Scientist-C

  • Should have obtained Master’s Degree in Geophysics / Marine Geophysics or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 60% marks at Post Graduation level
  • Should have obtained three years of academic / R&D experience after Post Graduation
  • Should have obtained demonstrable experience in marine geophysical data acquisition, processing and interpretation

For Project Scientist-B

  • Should have obtained Master’s Degree in Geology / Applied Geology or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 60% marks at Post  Graduation level
  • Should have obtained specialization in igneous petrology / petrogenesis and proven expertise in marine / terrestrial hydrothermal mineralization

For Project Scientist-B

  • Should have obtained Master’s Degree in Geophysics / Marine Geophysics or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 60% marks at Post Graduation level
  • Should have obtained demonstrable experience in marine geophysical data acquisition, processing and interpretation

Required Age

Should not be more than

  • 35 years for Scientist B
  • 40 years for Scientist C
  • 45 years for Scientist D

Note

Age relaxation to employees of GOI and SC / ST / OBC as per GOI norms. Age relaxation may also be considered in the case of exceptionally deserving candidates.

How to Apply

  • Candidates, who fill the eligibility criteria and are willing to apply, are required to appear for the walk-in-interview, which is scheduled to be conducted on January 17, 2012 (from 10.00 am onwards)
  • Candidates are required to bring along the original documents related to educational qualifications, date of birth, work experience, caste etc., on the day of interview.
  • The duly attested copies of all documents must be submitted with the Bio-data. One self-attested recent passport size photograph should also be pasted at the appropriate place in the bio-data.
  • Registration will start from 09.00 am to 10.00 am. No candidate will be allowed to attend interview after the registration time.
