- Selection of the candidates will be made through written examination, followed by interview, to be conducted by the Commission.

Eligibility Conditions
For Assistant Public Relations Officer, Class-II (Non Gazetted)
- Essential Qualification:
- Should have obtained Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University
- Should have obtained Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication / Public Relations or its equivalent or Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication / Public Relations from a recognized University
- Desirable Qualification:
- Should have knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of HP and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh
- Should have his own published material such as features and articles in Newspapers or journals of standing Newspapers and working experience of professional nature in any Govt. Dept. / Public Sector Undertakings / Media Organization of standing
For Secretary, Class-I (Gazetted) Grade ‘A’ (On Contract Basis)
- Essential Qualification:
- Should have obtained B Sc (Agriculture / Horticulture) or M Sc (Agriculture / Horticulture) followed by MBA preferably in Agri. Business from, any recognized University / Institution or diploma in Marketing Management from recognized University / Institution
- Desirable Qualification:
- Should have 5 years experience on Agriculture produce mainly in Govt. / Public Sector Undertaking autonomous bodies
- Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of HP and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the state will be advantageous
For Drug Inspector Class-II (Gazetted) (On Contract Basis)
- Essential Qualification:
- Should have obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or a Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry with pharmaceutics as essential subject of an University established in India by the Law or its equivalent qualification recognized and notified by the Central Government for such purpose or the Associate Ship Diploma of the Institution of Chemists (India) obtained by passing the examination with “Analysis of Drugs and pharmaceuticals” as one of the subjects, Or
- Should have obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Graduate in Medicine of an University recognized for this purpose by the appointing authority and has had at least one year’s post-graduate training in a laboratory under (i) a Government Analyst appointed under the Act, or (ii) a chemical Examiner, or (iii) the head of an institution specifically approved for the purpose by the appointing authority
- Desirable Qualification:
- Should have knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of HP and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the state
For Accounts Officer, Class-I (Gazetted)
- Essential Qualification:
- Should have obtained recognized Degree of ICWA or CA from a recognized Institution
- Desirable Qualification:
- Should have experience of working in Finance and Accounts
- Should have knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of HP and suitability for working in peculiar conditions of the state
Department of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh
For Principal (College Cadre) Class-I (Gazetted)
- Essential Qualification:
- Should possess a good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent of 55% marks wherever the grading system is followed in Master’s degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or a Foreign University recognized by the Govt. of India
- Candidates with PhD Degree or its equivalent should have 15 years of regular teaching experience in the degree classes of colleges affiliated to a University, Or Candidates without PhD Degree or its equivalent should have 20 years of regular teaching experience in the degree classes of colleges affiliated to a University.
- ‘B’ in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F shall be regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed.
- Desirable Qualification:
- Should have knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the state
For Department of Medical Education HP
- Essential Qualification:
- Should posses a recognized Medical Qualification, included in the first or second schedule or Part-II of the third schedule (other than Licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act.-1956 Holder of educational qualifications included in the Part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub sections (3) of section-13 of the Indian Medical Council Act-1956
- Should have obtained post graduate and post doctoral degrees in the concerned specialty or its equivalent qualifications
- Should have at least three years teaching experience as Lecturer / Registrar / Demonstrator / Resident after completing post graduation in the concerned specialty in any recognized Medical College
- Desirable Qualification:
- Should have knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of HP and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the state
- Should have some publication of research papers in index journals
For Assistant Professor (OBG)
- Should have obtained MD or MS (Obstetrics and Midwafery & MS Gynaecology) Speciality Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (USA)
For Assistant Professor (Aneasthesia)
- Should have obtained MD or MS (Aneasthesiology) FFARC (by examination with Aneasthesiology as a special subject, Speciality Board of Aneasthesiology (USA)
For Assistant Professor (Nephrology)
- Should have obtained DM Nephrology 2/3 years course as recognized by the MCI after MD Medicine, or MBBS and 5 years direct course leading to DM Nephrology
For Assistant Professor (Cardiology)
- Should have obtainedDM Cardiology 2/3 years course as recognized by the MCI after MD Medicine, or MBBS and 5 years direct course leading to DM Cardiology
For Assistant Professor (Radiotherapy)
- Should have obtained MD or MS (Radiotherapy) DMRT (2 years course)
For Assistant Professor (Gastroenterology)
- Should have obtained DM Gastroenterology 2/3 years course as recognized by MCI after MD Medicine, or MBBS and 5 years direct course leading to DM Gastroenterology
For Assistant Professor (Anatomy)
- Should have obtained MS (Anatomy) / MD (Anatomy) / MBBS with M Sc (Anatomy) / M Sc (Medical Anatomy) with PhD (Medical Anatomy) / M Sc (Medical Anatomy with D Sc (Medical Anatomy)
Department of Medical Education (Dental), Himachal Pradesh
For Assistant Professor (Public Health Dentistry)
Note: Should have obtained Master Degree in Public Health Dentistry
- Essential Qualification:
- Should have obtained a recognized BDS Degree from an Indian University constituted under the Statue or an equivalent qualification and having recognized post graduation degree or its equivalent in the concerned specialty
- Should possess at least three years teaching experience as Lecturer (Dentistry) in a Dental College recognized by Dental Council of India in the concerned specialty after doing post graduation in the concerned specialty.
- Desirable Qualification:
- Should have knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of HP and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the state
Required Age
For all posts - 45 years and below (as reckoned on 1st Jan, 2011)
Note
- Five years relaxation is given to SC / ST / OBC / WFF / Persons with disabilities of Himachal Pradesh. For HP Govt. employees and Ex-servicemen of HP relaxation is as per Government instructions.

Application Fee
For Online Application: Rs 250 for General / General Physical Handicapped / Hearing Impaired / WFF of HP (Rs 63 for SC / ST / OBC of HP). Examination fee is exempted for Ex-Servicemen / Blind / Visually Impaired candidates of HP.
For Offline Application: Candidates can obtain the OMR computerized Application Form on payment of Rs 300 for General / General Physical Handicapped / Hearing Impaired and WFF of HP categories. (Rs 115 for SC / ST / OBC of HP and Rs 50 for Ex-Servicemen / Visually Impaired)

- The application form can also be submitted through Offline Mode (using OMR Application Form). Candidates can obtain the OMR computerized Application Form on payment of the requisite amount at the Reception Counter of HPPSC, Nigam Vihar, Shimla - 171002.
- The duly filled in offline application form should be submitted through post / speed post / courier or by hand to “Controller of Examinations, Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Nigam Vihar, Shimla - 171002” latest by December 26, 2011. However, for remote areas, the last date of application form submission is January 10, 2012.
- The last date of submitting online application is December 26, 2011.
