Admission to M.Sc. Microbiology and M.Sc. Biotechnology courses at HPU Campus and its affiliated institutions
Eligibility
For M.Sc. Biotechnology:
Bachelor Degree under 10+2+3 pattern in Science in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fisheries Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering / Technology, 4 Years B.Sc. (Physician Assistant course) or Medicine (MBBS) or BDS with at least 55% marks for general and other category and 50% for SC / ST category candidates.
For M.Sc. Microbiology:
Bachelor Degree under 10+2+3 pattern in Science with any of the subjects i.e. Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Botany or Zoology or MBBS / B.V.Sc. with at least 55% marks for general and other category and 50% for SC / ST category candidates.
Age (as on 1st July, 2011):
Male: Not more than 26 years
Female: Not more than 28 years
SC / ST: not more than 29 years.
The candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination but whose results have so far not been declared can also apply but their eligibility for the Entrance Test and admission will be purely provincial subject to the condition that they have to produce passing certificate scoring the percentage at least prescribed thereto in the qualifying exams during the day of counseling.
How To Apply
The Prospectus containing details and prescribed Application Form will be available from C/O Chairman, Department of Biotechnology, H.P. University, Shimla w.e.f May 12, 2011 on cash payment of Rs.1250/- only for General category and Rs.650/- for SC/ST category.
A copy of the prospectus can also be obtained through Registered Post by remitting Rs.1350/- for General and Rs.750/- for SC/ST category through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Coordinator (Microbiology Program), Department of Biotechnology, H.P. University, Shimla”.
