The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has decided to conduct its examinations online from 2014 onwards.
There are currently 35,000 members and around four lakh CS students in the country, reveals ICSI statistics.
In fact, the ICSI is mulling to convert the entire system online in the coming years. The institute is also planning to launch e-learning and e-training facilities for its students.
However, the institute has already started online form submission facility from October 2013. For new students, online registration process has been started since January this year.
In order to simplify the provisions of the Companies Act 2013, the ICSI had uploaded small modules in video format on YouTube in October last year.
Apart from this, the institute has introduced new syllabus for executive program, which will be effective from 01 February 2014.
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is a recognised apex body set up to develop and regulate the profession of company secretaries in India. Having headquarters at New Delhi, the institute has four regional offices at Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai.
