Pay Scale :
- Professor: 37,400-67,000 with grade pay of Rs.10,000
- Associate Professor: 37,400-67,000 with grade pay of Rs.9,000
- Assistant Professor : 15,600-39,100 with grade pay of Rs.6,000
Age (as on 31st Dec, 2011)
Normally below 55 years for Professor, below 45 years for Associate Professor and below 40 years for Assistant Professor. Relaxation upto 5 years in the case of SC/ST and 3 years for OBC. For physically handicapped age relaxation is 10 years additionally for SC/ST and OBC.
Eligibility Conditions :
- An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification in Media Studies/Communication/Journalism or related areas and published work of high quality. Actively engaged in research, with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research / policy papers in indexed / ISBN /ISSN numbered journals and as ISBN/ISSN numbered books.
- A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in university/college, and /or experience in research at University/National Level institutions, including experience of guiding candidates for research at the doctoral level.
- Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process.
- A satisfactory score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) system developed by UGC, wherever applicable.
OR
- Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks in Media Studies/Communication/Journalism or related areas.
- 15 years of work experience in the area of Development Communication, of which at least 8 years should be in senior positions of Advocacy/Communication Strategy.
How to Apply
Application form can be obtained from Assistant Registrar, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 either in person or by post by sending self addressed and stamped (Rs.10/-) envelop (27x13 cms). Completed application form should be accompanied by attested copies of the certificates/testimonials and a Demand Draft for Rs. 200/- in favour of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi and reserved candidates should send their attested copy of the Caste Certificate. Application form and full details regarding qualification, experience etc. can be downloaded from website www.iimc,gov.in .
Last date for issue of application form is 14th Oct, 2011 and receipt of completed application is 19th Oct, 2011.
Important :
- SC/ST/OBC candidates they should send an attested copy of the caste certificate alongwith the request for application form.
- Payment for travel: Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid one-way AC-3 tier rail fare (or bus fare where there is no train connection) from place of residence to Delhi by the shortest route.
Note : Incomplete applications and applications not support by the required documents and applications received after the prescribed last date are liable to be rejected.The appointment carries with the liability of service in any part of india.Candidates / Short listed Candidates may be required to give a teaching / lecture demonstration.
