If you are a topper in PUC/12 th Standard (within top 20 ranks of the PU Board/University examination or equivalent) and decide to pursue a research career in Science and join B.Sc/Integrated M.Sc or an equivalent programme in any branch of science, viz., Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, in any College/University of your choice, you have an excellent opportunity to become an ‘IISc Young Fellow’. If selected, IISc will contribute partially towards payment of your tuition fees and purchase of books. You will be invited to spend one month during May-June every year in the research laboratories of IISc and you will be paid travel and stay expenses. If you maintain a high academic record, you may be considered for admission to the Integrated Ph.D/regular Ph.D Programme at IISc after you complete your studies.

AT the same time there is no obligation on your part to join IISc after B.Sc/Int. M.Sc. Please send your application on plain paper with proof of your rank in PUC/12 th Standard and with an endorsement from the college Principal/Authority of the Institution where you have joined, to: Assistant Registrar (Academic), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore-560012. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category will be considered under relaxed criteria. The decision of the Institute on the award of ‘IISc Young Fellowship Programme.”
