Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into PhD Programme:

Eligibility Conditions

For PhD (Engineering)

M.Tech./ ME or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline (with a valid GATE score in the year of admission into the M.Tech. Programme) with consistently good academic record. Or B.Tech./ BE or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with 70% marks or 7.5 CGPA (in 10-point scale) with a valid GATE Score, or UGC/ CSIR-NET (with JRF) and consistently good academic record in the relevant field. Or 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in 10-point scale) Masters or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with consistently good academic record and valid GATE Score or UGC/ CSIR-NET (with JRF).

For PhD (Basic Science)

Masters or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with consistently good academic record and valid GATE Score or UGC-CSIR-NET (with JRF)/ Inspire Fellowship in the relevant field.

For PhD (Geo-Science)

M.Sc./ M.Tech. in Geology/ Geophysics/ Earth Science or relevant subject with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in 10-point scale) and valid GATE score/ CSIR-JRF/ Inspire Fellowship with consistently good academic record in the relevant field.

For PhD (Climate Sciences)

M.Sc./ M.Tech. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Marine Science/ Earth Science/ Mechanical/ Civil/ Geo-informatics/ Remote Sensing/ Computer Science or relevant subject with valid GATE/ UGC-CSIR-JRF/ Inspire Fellowship with consistently good academic record in the relevant field. Mathematics at UG level is compulsory for Climate Science. 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in 10-point scale)

For PhD (HSS)

Masters degree in appropriate discipline with 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA (in 10-point scale). The candidate must have a valid UGC-NET (with JRF).

Application Fee

DD of Rs.500/- for General/ OBC candidates and Rs.250/- for SC/ ST candidates drawn in favour of "IIT Bhubaneswar" on any nationalized bank payable at Bhubaneswar. Female candidates are exempted from paying application fee.
