• Project Scientific Assistant
• Project Technicians
• Research Associate
• Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Note

• Candidates are required to apply online and forward a hard copy duly signed by the candidate through Post along with Registration No. of online submission enclosing the required copies of certificates for consideration.
• Selection will be made through personal interview, to be conducted by NIOT Chennai.

Eligibility Conditions

For the Post of Project Scientific Assistant

• Post Code- PSA01-MECH (Mechanical Discipline)
  • Should have obtained Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from any recognized Board / Institution or equivalent with at least first class (60%) with basic knowledge of computer
  • Should have obtained PG Diploma in Port Development, Management with GMDSS certificate
• Post Code- PSA02-ECE (Electronics & Communication / Instrumentation Discipline)
  • Should have obtained Diploma in Electronics & Communication / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent from any recognized Board / Institution or equivalent with at least first class (60%) with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PSA03-ELE (Electrical / Instrumentation Discipline)
  • Should have obtained Diploma in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Board / Institution or equivalent with at least first class (60%) with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PSA04-CVL (Civil Discipline)
  • Should have obtained Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent from any recognized Board / Institution or equivalent with at least first class (60%) with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PSA05-EE (Electrical & Electronics)
  • Should have obtained Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Board / Institution or equivalent with at least first class (60%) with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PSA06-CS (Computer Science/System Analyst Discipline)
  • Should have obtained Diploma in Computer Science / B Sc in Computer Science / BCA or equivalent from any recognized Board / Institution / University or equivalent with at least first class (60%) with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PSA07-ELC (Electronics Discipline)
  • Should have obtained Diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Board / Institution or equivalent with at least first class (60%) with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PSA08-LS (Life Science / Life or Chemical or Environmental Sciences Discipline)
  • Should have obtained Bachelor’s degree in Life Science / Chemical / Environmental Sciences or equivalent from any recognized University with at least first class (60%) with basic knowledge of computer

For the post of Project Technician

• Post Code- PT01-MECH (Mechanical Discipline)
  • Should have completed ITI in Mechanical / 10+2 (Sr Sec) or its equivalent qualification from any recognized Board / University with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PT02-ELE (Electrical/Wireman Discipline)
  • Should have completed ITI in Electrical / Wireman / 10+2 (Sr Sec) or its equivalent qualification from any recognized Board / University with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PT03-WEL (Welder Discipline)
  • Should have completed IIT in Welding / 10+2 (Sr Sec) or its equivalent qualification from any recognized Board / University with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PT04-FIT (Fitter Discipline)
  • Should have completed ITI in Fitter / 10+2 (Sr Sec) or its equivalent qualification from any recognized Board / University with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PT05-ELCI (Electronics/Instrumentation Discipline)
  • Should have completed ITI in Electronics / Instrumentation / 10+2 (Sr Sec) or its equivalent qualification from any recognized Board / University with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PT06-SEA (Seaman Discipline)
  • Should have obtained 10+2 (Sr Sec) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board / University with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PT07-CVL (Civil Discipline)
  • Should have completed ITI in Civil - Draftsman / CAD / Quality Surveyor / 10+2 (Sr Sec) or its equivalent qualification from any recognized Board / University with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PT08-RDTECH (Radio Technician Discipline)
  • Should have obtained 10+2 (Sr Sec) with Diploma in Port Development & Management with GMDSS Certificate or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board / University with basic knowledge of computer
• Post Code- PT09-GEN (General Discipline)
  • Should have obtained 10+2 (Sr Sec) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board / University with basic knowledge of computer

For the Post of Research Associate

• Post Code- RA01-LS (Life Science Discipline)
  • Should have obtained Doctorate in Life Science or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after ME / M Tech will be eligible for award as RA

For the post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

• Post Code- SRF01-PO (Physical Oceanography / Physics / Oceanography Discipline)
  • Should have obtained Post Graduate degree in Physical Oceanography / Physics / Oceanography and NET qualified or equivalent with minimum 60% marks and at least two years of post qualification, research experience as evidenced from fellowship / associateship or traineeship and published papers in standard referred journal
• Post Code- SRF02-LS (Life/Chemical Sciences Discipline)
  • Should have obtained Post Graduate degree in Life / Chemical Sciences and NET qualified or equivalent with minimum 60% marks and at least two years of post qualification, research experience as evidenced from fellowship / associateship or traineeship and published papers in standard referred journal

For the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Post Code- JRF01-LS (Life/Chemical Sciences Discipline)
  • Should have obtained Post Graduate degree in Life Sciences / Chemistry and NET qualified or equivalent with minimum 60% marks with research experience as evidenced from fellowship / associateship or traineeship and published papers in standard referred journal

Required Age

For Project Scientific Assistant and Project Technician - below 28 years

• Candidates, who fulfill the eligibility criteria and are willing to apply, are required to apply online by filling in the online application form available on the Institute’s official website: http://www.niot.res.in/
• After filling in the online application form, candidate will be allotted a system generated Registration Number.
• Candidate must take the printout of the online submitted application form.
• The duly acknowledge hard copy/printout of the online submitted application form along with requisite documents (details given on the website) should be sent to The Director, National Institute of Ocean Technology, Velachery - Tambaram Main Road, Pallikaranai, Chennai -600100, India, latest by January 25, 2012.
• The applications should be sent in an envelope super scribing the post name and discipline for which the candidate has applied.
