- The duration of the appointment of candidates will be for a period of 3 years or co-terminus with the project in which he/she is engaged, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility Conditions
For the post of Project Scientist- III
Post Code- PS301-MECH (Mechanical/Marine Discipline)
- Should have obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Marine Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University / Institute with not less than 60% marks
- Should have obtained Master’s Degree in Mechanical / Marine Engineering from any recognized University or equivalent
- Candidates with 7 years experience in Marine engineering field with sailing on ships as Marine Engineering Officer will be preferred.
For the post of Project Scientist- II
Post Code- PS201-MECH (Mechanical Discipline)
- Should have obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University / Institute with not less than 60% marks
- Should have obtained Master’s Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent
- Should have 3 years experience in Research and Development, Survey / Planning in the relevant field

- Candidates, who fulfill the eligibility criteria and are willing to apply, are required to apply online by filling in the online application form available on the Institute’s official website: http://www.niot.res.in/
- After filling in the online application form, candidate will be allotted a system generated Registration Number.
- Candidate must take the printout of the online submitted application form.
- The duly acknowledge hard copy/printout of the online submitted application form along with requisite documents (details given on the website) should be sent to The Director, National Institute of Ocean Technology, Velachery - Tambaram Main Road, Pallikaranai, Chennai -600100, India, latest by February 10, 2012.
