The National Institute of Science Education and Research , Bhubaneswar has invited applications for admission to its PhD programme offered in:
- School of Biological Sciences
- Chemical Sciences
- Physical Sciences
- Humanities
- Social Sciences and
- Mathematical Sciences for the academic session 2017.
Eligibility Conditions
Educational Qualification:
For PhD in Biological Sciences:
Aspiring candidates must possess 60% marks in Master's in any branches of biology, life sciences or allied fields, pharmaceutical sciences and bioinformatics.
For PhD in Chemical Sciences:
Aspiring candidates must possess 60% in masters in chemistry or allied fields.
For PhD in Physical Sciences:
Aspiring candidates must possess 60% or equivalent GPA cumulatively till the last year/semester examination appeared in M.Sc majoring in physics or M.E/M.Tech in applied physics.
For PhD in Mathematical Sciences:
Aspiring candidates interested in applying for this programme must possess 60% in masters in mathematics or statistics or computer science.
Selection Procedure
The candidates will be selected on the basis of an interview followed by a written test, if necessary.
Imp: The scholarship given by NISER is Rs 25,000 for first two years, which will subsequently be enhanced to Rs 28,000 for remaining three years.
