National Institute of Science Education and Research , Bhubaneswar has invited applications for its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program offered in the School of:
- Biological Sciences
- Chemical Sciences
- Physical Sciences
- Humanities and Social Sciences and
- Mathematical Sciences
Scholarship
NISER provides a scholarship of Rs 25,000 for the first two years, which will subsequently be enhanced to Rs 28,000 for remaining three years.
Eligibility Conditions
Educational Qualification:
For Ph.D in Biological Sciences:
Aspiring candidates must possess 60% marks in a Master's degree in any branches of Biology, Life Sciences or allied fields, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Bioinformatics.
For Ph.D in Chemical Sciences:
Aspiring candidates must possess 60% marks in a Master's degree in Chemistry or allied fields.
For Ph.D in Physical Sciences:
Aspiring candidates must possess 60% marks or equivalent GPA cumulatively till the last year/ semester examination and must have appeared in M.Sc majoring in Physics or M.E./M.Tech in Applied Physics.
For Ph.D in Mathematical Sciences:
Aspiring candidates must possess 60% marks in a Master's degree in Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science.
Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of educational qualifications and other additional criteria, which each school may set. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, supplemented by a written test for the final selection.
