Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for recruitment 2011, for following various posts:

• Professor of Animation
• Professor (Production Management)
• Associate Professor (Animation)
• Assistant Professor (Production Accounting)
• Animator
• Production Manager
• Lighting Assistant

• The recruitment will be done on direct or deputation basis.

Eligibility Conditions

For Professor of Animation

• Essential Qualification:
  • Should have obtained Degree in Fine Arts from any recognized University;
  • Should have obtained Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Animation from any recognized University or Institution of repute;
  • Should have at least 13 years’ professional experience &/OR teaching of Graphics / Animation in a responsible capacity in an Organization or Institution connected with Film or TV Graphics or Training, OR
  • Should have obtained Master Degree in Fine Arts (preferably Applied Art / Computer Animation) from any recognized University/institute;
  • Should have at least fifteen years’ professional experience and/or teaching experience of Animation in a responsible capacity in an Organization or Institution of related field
• Desirable Qualification:
  • Should have administrative or managerial experience
  • Should have good knowledge of Art and Animation and latest technical developments in the field

Note: Candidates are required to produce evidence of professional work done

For Professor (Production Management)

• Essential Qualification:
  • Should have obtained Degree from a recognized University
  • Should have obtained Degree or Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent in Film, OR
  • Television Direction / Production from a recognized University or Institution of repute;
  • Should have at least 13 years’ professional experience and/or teaching in a responsible capacity in an Organization or Institution of Respective Field, OR
  • Should have Master’s Degree in Management from a recognized University / Institute;
  • Should have at least 15 years’ professional experience and/or teaching in a responsible capacity in an Organization or Institution of respective field
• Desirable Qualification:
  • Should have Administrative or Managerial experience
  • Should have knowledge of film and TV media and latest trend of promotion/marketing Developments in the field

Note: Candidates are required to produce evidence of professional work done

For Associate Professor (Animation)

• Essential Qualification:
  • Should have obtained Degree in Fine Arts from any recognized University;
  • Should have obtained Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Animation from any recognized University or Institution of repute;
  • Should have at least 8 years’ professional experience &/or teaching of         Graphics / Animation in a responsible capacity in an organization or institution connected with Film or TV Graphics or Training, OR
  • Should have obtained Master’s Degree in Fine Arts (preferably Applied Art/ Computer Animation) from a recognized University/institute;
  • Should have at least 10 years’ professional experience of Animation and/or of teaching experience in a responsible capacity in an organization or Institution of related field
• Desirable Qualification:
  • Should have knowledge of World Art and Animation and latest technical developments in the field of animation/graphics/compositing

Note: Candidates are required to produce evidence of professional work done

For Assistant Professor (Production Accounting)

• Essential Qualification:
  • Should have obtained Degree from any recognized University, or equivalent;
  • Should have obtained Degree or Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent in Business Administration from a recognized University or Institute;
  • Should have at least 3 years’ professional experience on Film / TV Production Accounting and/or respective teaching experience in an organization or Institution of repute
• Desirable Qualification:
  • Should have good knowledge in Film and TV medium in India and abroad
  • Should have good knowledge of Computers

Note: Candidates are required to produce evidence of professional work done

For Animator

• Should have obtained Degree in Fine Arts from any recognized University or Institution or equivalent;
• Should have obtained Certificate of completion of course in Animation & Computer Graphics conducted by FTII/NID, or equivalent
• Should have at least 3 years’ experience in Animation / Graphics in an Organization or Institution connected with Film/TV Graphics/Training

For Production Manager

• Essential Qualification:
  • Should have obtained Degree from any recognized University or equivalent
  • Should have obtained Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent in Film or Television Direction/Production or media management from a recognized University or Institute of repute
  • Should have at least 3 years’ professional experience in a responsible capacity in a Film Production Organization of repute including experience of making arrangements for Film Shooting Programmes
• Desirable Qualification:
  • Should have Administrative/Managerial experience
  • Should have good knowledge of Indian and International Cinema
  • Should have good knowledge of computer and accounts

Note: Candidates are required to produce evidence of work done/experience

For Lighting Assistant

• Should have completed Matriculation from any recognized Board, or equivalent, or ITI (Electrical) passed
• Should have a relevant License issued by the Competent Authority to work in 3 phase 440 volt electric line
• Should have at least 4 years’ experience in related field in a Film Studio or equivalent Organization of repute

Note: Candidates are required to produce evidence of work done

Required Age

• For Professor (Animation / Production Management) - Not more than 52 years
• For Associate Professor (Animation) - Not more than 42 years
• For Assistant Professor (Production Accounting) - Not more than 37 years
• For Animator - Not more than 32 years
• For Production Manager - Not more than 32 years
• For Lighting Assistant - 27 years

Application Fee

• For the posts of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Animator and Production Manager - Rs 200
• For the post of Lighting Assistant - Rs 100

Note: Application fees exempted for SC/ST/PH/female candidates

• For paying the application fees, candidates should obtain a DD of Rs 200 / Rs 100 (Exempted for SC / ST / PH / Women candidates), drawn in favor of Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, payable at Kolkata.
• Application form, duly filled as per the prescribed format, along with 2 passport-size photographs, DD and all requisite documents, should be sent to The Director, Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, E.M. Bypass Road, P.O. Panchasayar, Kolkata - 700094.
• Candidates should mention “Name of the Post Applied for ________” on the envelope, in which the form would be sent.
• Candidates, applying for more than one post, are required to submit separate application (along with separate DD) for each post.
• Candidates employed under Government / Semi-Government / Public Sector / Autonomous Institutes, should apply through proper channel.
