Duration of the Program
Medical Faculty:
- Full Time candidates holding MD/MS qualifications: Min. 2 years inclusive of coursework (Max. 4 years)
- Full Time candidates holding Diploma/MSc (Medical) qualifications: Min. 3 years inclusive of coursework (Max. 6 years)
- In Service candidates with MD/MS qualifications: Min. 4 years inclusive of coursework (Max. 6 years)
- In-Service candidates holding Diploma/MSc (Medical) qualifications: Min. 4 years inclusive of coursework (Max. 6 years)
- Part time candidate with MD/MS qualifications: Min. 4 years inclusive of course work (Max. 6 years)
- Part time candidate holding Diploma/MSc (Medical) qualifications: Min. 4 years inclusive of coursework (Max. 6 years)
Dental Faculty:
- Full Time candidates holding MDS qualifications: Min. 3 years inclusive of coursework (Max. 6 years)
- In-Service candidates holding MDS qualifications: Min. 4 years inclusive of course work (Max. 6 years)
- Part time candidates holding MDS qualifications: Min. 4 years inclusive of course work (Max. 6 years)
Allied Medical Sciences Faculty: Physiotherapy, Nursing, Pharmacy and Management faculties:
- Full Time Candidate with PG degree in Physiotherapy (MPT), PG degree in Nursing (MSc), PG degree in Pharmacy (M Pharm) & Pharma D and PG degree in Management: Min. 3 years inclusive of course work (Max. 6 years)
- In-Service candidates with PG degree in Physiotherapy (MPT), PG degree in Nursing(MSc), PG degree in Pharmacy (M Pharm) & Pharma D and PG degree in Management: Min. 4 years inclusive of course work (Max. 6 years)
- Part time candidates with PG degree in Physiotherapy (MPT), PG degree in Nursing (MSc), PG degree in Pharmacy (M Pharm) & Pharma D and PG degree in Management: Min. 4 years inclusive of course work (Max. 6 years)
Women candidates
- The women candidates and Persons with Disability (more than 40% disability) may be allowed a relaxation of two years for Ph.D. in the maximum duration. In addition, the women candidates may be provided Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave once in the entire duration of Ph.D. for up to 240 days.
Eligibility Conditions
Ph.D. Programs in Medical faculty
- Candidates with MD / MS, DM / MCh /PG Diploma/ MSc (Medical) degree from MCI recognized college / Institution are eligible
Programs in Dental faculty
- Candidates with MDS or equivalent Master’s degree from DCI recognized college / Institution are eligible for Ph.D.
Ph.D
- Candidate with PG degree in Physiotherapy (MPT), PG degree in Nursing (MSc), PG degree in Pharmacy (M Pharm) & Pharma D and PG degree in Management from a college / Institution Recognized by INC / IAP / PCI / AICTE / UGC
- Regular employees of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University are eligible for “Inservice” Ph.D. programs in their respective faculty provided they meet the eligibility criteria mentioned in UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M. Phil / Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations 2016
- Part time candidates from outside the institute must be a full time/regular faculty of Medicine/ Dental /Allied Health Sciences with minimum of 2 years experience at the time of admission and sponsored by the concerned institute / organization. The candidate should be working in an organization which encourages and facilitates research. The candidate must submit a “consent & no objection certificate” from his/her parent organization. Other terms & conditions remain the same as in Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Ph.D. Regulations for Admission to Ph.D. Program
- Candidate must have scored minimum of 55% marks for General Category and 50% of marks for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time at the qualifying examinations mentioned above
Selection Procedure
- The candidates aspiring to register for Ph.D. program shall appear for entrance examination conducted by Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University
- Candidates who cleared Ph.D. entrance examination shall be called for an interview /counseling
- Based on the performance at the entrance test and interview, subject wise merit list will be published on University Website
- Candidates will be invited to participate in Ph.D. registration process on merit basis
- Those candidates who have cleared UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/teacher fellowship/M.Phil or equivalent examinations recognized by UGC are exempted for taking this Ph.D. entrance exam. All such candidates will submit application form alongwith the attested proof of having cleared exempted examination as above
- However, such candidates will have to appear for interview to discuss their plan of research

- Examination will be held in Exam Hall of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pipariya, Vadodara

- Filled up application forms along with attested photo copies of all mark sheets (UG & PG), passing certificate, registration certificates as applicable, four recent passport size color photograph and requisite examination fee of Rs.3500/-; should be sent to
