The Common Aptitude Test for English (CATE) for admission into the highly sought after B.A. English (Honors) programme offered by the (DU) has been scheduled to be held on June 9.
Earlier, the entrance tests for admissions to the English Honors course offered by colleges at DU were all conducted individually by the colleges themselves.
Last year, CATE was introduced by DU as an alternative to the several individual entrance tests for English (Honors) by DU colleges. Twelve colleges of the university had agreed to use CATE as the means to provide admission.
The application forms for CATE would be made available at the above mentioned colleges from May 20 to 31.
The number of examination centres would be 23, including some colleges that have not opted for CATE. The results of the test, which will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on June 9, would be declared on the university website on June 19 and the cut-off list would follow.
The eligibility criteria for appearing for CATE are a minimum of 60 percent marks in English (Core, Elective and Functional) in the Class 12 board examination as well as a minimum of 60 percent marks in the best of four subject aggregates.
