5. VIT University, Vellore Invites Applications for Admission into B.Tech Programs

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programs offered in various specializations at various schools for 2013. 

Eligibility Conditions

• Candidates pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) are eligible to apply.
  
  
• 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) for candidates belonging to SC/ST and students hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and from the North Eastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh are eligible to apply.
  
  
• Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programs. Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech Bioinformatics, Biotechnology & Biomedical Engineering programs. 

How to Apply

• Application forms can be obtained from the designated branches of post offices in cash payment of Rs.950. Details are available in the VIT website: http://www.vit.ac.in./.
  
  
• Application forms can be obtained by sending demand draft for Rs.950 drawn in the favor of “VIT University”, payable at Vellore, to the Director-UG Admission with a request latter contacting the full address of the applicant by handling over a DD for Rs.950 in person at VIT University, Vellore (or) at VIT, Chennai Campus (or) at Chennai city office. 

Selection procedure

• Selection of candidates will be done based on the VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE-2013) conducted by VIT University. 

Important Dates

• Last date for submission of application: 28^th Feb, 2013 (Thursday)
• VITEEE-2013 exam dates: 15^th Apr, 2013 (Monday) to 30^th Apr, 2013 (Tuesday)
