Assam University is a public university for higher education and learning and is located in the Silchar, Assam, India. The university was established in 1994 by the Government of India and Mr. Gulzar is the chancellor and prof Somnath Dasgupta is the Vice-chancellor of the university. The campus of the university is spread out in the area of 600 acres and is situated in Dargokona which is about 20 km from the Silchar.
