Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, abbreviated as AUD, is a public university for higher education and learning. It was founded in the 2007 and is located in Delhi. The campus of the university occupies 110 acres of land and around 60 acres of land has been devoted to biodiversity to to preserve the wetland.
The current location of AUD is Kashmere Gate, Delhi and its second campus is under construction. The current campus of AUD is housed in Indraprastha University as well as Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology. At present, the campus of AUD owns the 300 year old Dara Shikoh library along with AV facility, library, reading rooms, wi-fi connection, online journals and computer labs. The new campus of the university is going to be ecologically-frugal, energy -efficient and disabled-friendly. The new campus is also planned to have academic as well as recreational, social facilities and residential facilities for staff and students.
The university has 10 academic departments and 6 centres. The academic department includes School of Undergraduate Studies, School of Development Studies, School of Human Ecology, School of Human Studies, School of Culture and Creative Expressions, School of Design, School of Business, Public Policy and Social Entrepreneurship, School of Educational Studies, School of Law, Governance and Citizenship, School of Liberal Studies. The centre of the university includes Centre for Community Knowledge, Centre for Leadership and Change, Centre for Social Science Research Methods, Centre for Early Childhood Education and Development, Centre for Engaged Spiritualities and Peacebuilding, Centre for Social Applications of Mathematics.
