The Maharaja Krishnakumar Sinhji Bhavnagar University, formerly known as just the Bhavnagar University, is an autonomous, public university located in the city of Bhavnagar in the western State of Gujarat, India. The University was established on the 24th of May 1979 on a large swath of 198 acre land. The university has various research and teaching programs in the fields of Commerce, Arts, Engineering, Science, Medicine, Rural Studies, Management and Law. Additionally the University has 18 postgraduate centers, 22 departments and 4 recognized research centres and institutes. The University has over 83 colleges affiliated to it from diverse fields in Science, Commerce, Arts, Law, Education, Management, Engineering, Medical and Rural disciplines.
