Bihar Agricultural University, is a public university of agricultural studies, research and learning and is located in Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. The university was formed in 2010 by the Government of India and is affiliated with ICAR ( Indian Council of Agricultural Research).
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programs in Agriculture, veterinary and dairy sciences. Agricultural department includes courses like B.Sc in agriculture, horticulture, M.Sc in horticulture, genetics, soil science, agronomy, plant breeding and plant pathology and Ph.D in olericulture & pomology, agronomy, soil science and agronomy. Veterinary department includes programs like B.S.Sc, agriculture, Ph.D in animal breeding & genetics, gyneocology, live stock production, animal reporduction, obstetrics, M.V.Sc in animal nutrition, plant phonology, animal breeding, gyneocology and obsterics. The dairy sciences department includes B.Tech in DT. The admission is done through the All India Entrance Examination which is conducted by the ICAR.
The Bihar Agricultural university conducts various research programs in agriculture, the current on-going project is for farmers of the Bihar in association with World Development Foundation. There are about seven constituent colleges of the university which includes Bihar Veterinary colleges, colleges of horticulture, Bihar agricultural college, college of agriculture, Bhola Paswan Shastri agriculture college, Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology and Madam Bharti agricultural colleges. The facility offered by the university are hostels ( separate for girls and boys), health centre, free medical facilities, sports club, residential areas for staff members, library, research department, students counselling, canteen, gym, cultural events and etc.
