The Central University of Bihar, abbreviated as CUB, is a public university of higher education, research and learning and is located in Patna, Bihar, India. It was founded in the year 2009 by the government of India. At present, the university is functional at the premises of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT Campus).Smt Meira Kumar is chancellor of the Central University and prof Janak Pandey is the Vice-Chancellor of the university.
The university offers master degrees in biotechnology, computer science, environmental science, mathematics and statistics. Additionally, the university offers three more masters degrees in bioinformatics, communication & media studies and psychology. In the year 2012-2013, the university introduced additional seven masters degrees which includes lie science, economics, english, hindi, political science & international relations, sociology and M.Tech in computer science.
