Chanakya National Law university is a public university for higher education in law and is located in Patna, Bihar, India. It was founded in 2006 by the Government of Bihar under Bihar act 24, 2006. Prof. A. Lakshminath is the vice-chancellor and Hon justice Miss Rekha Manharlal Doshit is the chancellor of the university. The campus of the university occupies the land of 35 acres and has been affiliated with Bar Council of India, University Grants Commission.
University offers courses for undergraduate programs and postgraduate programs, undergraduate programs includes courses like B.A LLB (hons) and BBA LLB (Hons). It also have research degrees which includes LLD, Ph.D, D.Phil. The university is a house of multi-storey library which has online database, over 7000 books, reports, manuscripts and journals. There are over fifty Indian and foreign journals in the library and it has subscriptions to the online database of Westlaw, Heinonline and Manupatra. For students recreational activity the campus offer four committees which are Academic and debating committee, Mooting committee, Hostel and mess committee and cultural committee. Apart from these committee, university also offers, sports activities to keep students fit, medical supplies, bank, post office, residential area, wi-fi and many more. The students of CNLU university loves to play quizz, the university organise quiz competition after every semester and students from other institute participate in this competition.
Jeevatva is the annual fest of CNLU, which is organised by students every year and students across India participate in this event
