Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, is a public university of agricultural studies, research and learning and is located in Hisar, Haryana, India. It was formed in the year 1970 by the Government of India. Mr. Jagannath Pahadia is the chancellor and Krishan Singh Khokhar is the Vice-chancellor of the university. The campus occupies the land area of 1426 acres and is located about 2 km from the railway station and around 3 km from the bus station. The campus has farmer’s hostel, hospital, student’s hostel, faculty house, shopping centre, Gandhi Bhawan, Nehru library, administration building, sports complex, guest houses, community centre, residences for staff, service centre, grocery shops, post office, bank, bookstores and Indira Gandhi auditorium.
It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D and MBA programs. The admission for undergraduate programs is through a common entrance test which includes physics, biology, mathematics, chemistry and agriculture. For B.Tech course the admission process is done through AIEEE ( All India Engineering Entrance Examination) conducted by Indian Council og Agriculture Research. It also has unique laboratories which has DNA sequencing, FT-IR, gene pulser, chromatography, electron microscope, UV trans-illuminator, x-ray, greenhouse and transgenic greenhouse. The university has four main colleges at Hisar which includes College of Agriculture (CoA), College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (CoAET), College of Basic Sciences & Humanities (CoBS) and Indira Chakravarty College of Home Science (CoHS).
The university has associations which international colleges which includes University of Michigan of United States, University of Maryland of United States, Wageningen University of Netherlands, University of Western Australia of Australia, Iowa State University of United States, University of Adelaide of Australia and Nepal Agricultural Research Council of Nepal.
