Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Agricultural Vishvavidyalaya, abbreviated as CSK, is a public university of agriculture studies and research and is located in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. The university was formed in 1978 by the government of India. Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Urmila Singh is the chancellor and Mr. K.K. Katoch is the Vice-Chancellor of the university. The campus of the university has spread out in 6.49 km and is surrounded with lush, greenery and pleasant sights.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programs in agriculture, home science, basic sciences and veterinary and animal sciences. Admission process is through the common entrance examination conducted by the university and the selection of the students are based on their performance in the entrance examination. There are about 539 students in undergraduate programs and about 268 students in postgraduate programs.
The colleges of university has been divided into four segments Colleges of veterinary and animal sciences, college of basic sciences , college of agriculture and college of home sciences. IT has five main research centres at the campus which includes Advance Centre for Hill Bioresource & Biotechnology, Centre for Commercial Mountain Agriculture and Enterprises Development, Centre for Human Resources Development in Mountain Agriculture, Organic Farming Research and Training Centre and Centre for Policy Research in Mountain Agriculture & Rural Development.
The university also has facilities like health centre, inter-college volleyball competition, NSS training & activities , tours, student clubs, student organization, student counselling, accommodation for staff members, hostel (separate for boys and girls), free wi-fi connection on campus, food court and gymnastic.
