Guru Ghasidas University, is a central university for higher education and learning and is located in Bilaspur, India. It was established in the year 1983 and is commonly known as GGU. The campus is surrounded with greenery, River Arpa also flow parallel to the campus of university and the area is spread over 658 acres.

The university also has department of forestry which has programs like BSc in forestry, MSc forestry and Ph.D Forestry.
The university of Guru Ghasidas is a proud owner of massive library which host more than 105000 books which includes 3950 volumes of journals, 1100 Ph.D theses and many more. The library has enabled wi-fi system. Along with the central library, the university also has its own separate departmental libraries. The university also has its own residential area along with three hostels. The hostels are divided into 2 sections, boys and girls. The hostel has vegetarian mess, reading and TV room and 24 hours wardens supervision.
