The Himachal Pradesh University, is an autonomous, public and nonprofit University, located in the city of Shimla, about 5 kilometers away from Summer Hill and close to the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, in the State of Himachal Pradesh, India. The University receives its financing from the University Grants Commission of India, New Delhi and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The University was established on the 22nd of July 1970, under the Himachal Pradesh University Act, by the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. The
