Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, abbreviated as IGAU, is a public university of agricultural studies, research and learning and is located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. The university was established in 1987 by the Government of India. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Patil is the vice-chancellor of the university and is affiliated with UGC.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programs in agriculture, horticulture, agricultural engineering, forestry, pre medical test, pre engineering, dairy technology, veterinary and animal husbandry and biotechnology. The admission process is done through the common entrance examination conducted by the university. The selection of the students are done on the basis of their performance in the examination. The academic department of university includes, department of agronomy, department of forestry, department of plant physiology, agricultural biochemistry and herbal science, department of agriculture extension, department of horticulture, department of entomology, department of plant pathology, department of fisheries, department of genetics and plant breeding, department of agrometeorology, department of agricultural economics, department of soil science and agriculture chemistry, department of agricultural statistics and social science and department of agricultural microbiology.

The other facility offered by the university are hostels ( with the capacity of accommodating 475 students), health centre, free medical facilities, sports club, scholarship, fellowship merit scholarship, merit cum means scholarship, etc. The university also provide partial and full freeship scholarship to few underprivileged students.
