International Institute of Information Technology, abbreviated as IIIT, is a public university of higher education, learning and research and is located in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. The university was formed in the year 1998 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and is affiliated by UGC, NAAC, AIU, AICTE, NBA. Dr.P J Narayanan is the director of the university. The campus is a home of over 1000 students, 370 students in postgraduate programs and 850 in undergraduate programs. The campus is situated about 10km from the main city of the Hyderabad and the central railway station and very close to the international airport of the Hyderabad. The university is also close to HITEC City which includes big IT companies of the world.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate. dual degree and Ph.D programs in computer sciences, master of sciences, electronics and communication technology. The undergraduate admission is done through the AIEEE conducted by the CCB ( Central counseling board). The admission process for postgraduate programs is done through the PGEE, (Postgraduate Entrance Examination), which is conducted by the university only. For MSIT programs the admission mode is through common entrance test conducted by the university every year in the month of April-May.
The centers of the university includes Language Technologies Research Center, Center for VLSI and Embedded Systems Technologies, Data Engineering, Center for Visual Information Technology, Center for Security, Theory and Algorithmic Research, Communications, Speech and Signal Processing Lab,Robotics Research Lab, Cognitive Science Lab, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Lab for Spatial Informatics, Center for Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinformatics and Center for Exact Humanities.
