Junagadh Agricultural University, is a public university of agriculture studies, research and learning and is located in Junagadh, Gujarat, India. The university was formed in 1972 by the Government of India and is affiliated with ICAR. Dr. Shrimati Kamla is the chancellor and Dr. N.C. Patel is the vice-chancellor of the university.
The university offers graduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programs in agriculture and allied sciences, agricultural engineering and fisheries, agriculture. There are about 75 students in graduate programs in agriculture, 70 students in agricultural engineering and about 30 students in faculty of fisheries. The admission of done through the common entrance examination conducted by the university and the selection of the students are done on the basis of their performance in the examination. The faculty is divided into six sections, polytechnics, faculty of vet.science and A.H, faculty of agriculture, faculty of agriculture business management, faculty of fisheries and faculty of agricultural engineering & technology.The university also has facilities like health centre, inter-college volleyball competition, NSS training & activities , tours, student clubs, student organization, student counselling, accommodation for staff members, hostel (separate for boys and girls), free wi-fi connection on campus, food court and gymnastic. The research department of the university is funded by the national/international agencies or government organization. The library of the university contain text books, reading material, reference material, journals, indian and foreign journals, online database, e-books, manuscripts and many more.
The university also organization annual cultural festival every year for the students, in which students from other colleges participate.
