The Karnataka State Law University is a University of higher education in law, established by the Government of Karnataka in January 2009, at Navanagar, Hubli, India. The University is the biggest Law University in India, and is affiliated with over 90 law colleges spanning the the state of Karnataka. The students and all the stall of Karnataka State Law University and all its affiliated colleges, are required to wear Khadi clothes every Monday. This practice is inculcated to generate a feeling of nationality, integration and belonging. The colour combination of this Khadi uniform is blue and white, with the white colour signifying purity and the blue colour signifying tolerance.
The goal of KSLU is to create a society which is legally conscious within the State of Karnataka, while providing good quality education that is not only socially relevant but also professionally competent, so that the constitutional goal of political, economic and social justice along with basic human right for every human is recognized. The University strives to encourage a culture of justice, law and order in all institutions, be it private or state, of legal service or legal training. To that end, the Karnataka State Law University offers various courses, including LL.B, BA.LL.B, BBA.LL.B, BBA.LLB hons, BA.LL.B hons, LL.M and a PG Diploma in Human rights, Cyber and Information Technology Law and Intellectual Property Rights. These courses are offered not only at the main campus of the University, but also all those affiliated law colleges in Karnataka that have meet the specific requirements.
