The Kerala University of Health Sciences is a university of medicine and health science, located in the city of Thrissur in the state of Kerala, India. The campus of the University is located on a land 75 acres large, inside of the Government Medical College campus. The Kerala University Health Act of 2010 called for the creation of a University, and as such the Kerala University of Health Science was established the same year. There are more than 200 colleges currently affiliated with this university.
The University, according to the Kerala University Health Act of 2010, will undertake all the paramedical and medical colleges in the state of Kerala under its wing. These include the various colleges and medical schools that currently function under Mahatma Gandhi University, University of Kerala, Calicut University, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kannur University and Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit. All other medical schools, colleges and university in the state of Kerala will fall under the domain of the Kerala University of Health Science.
