The National Institute of Technology Bhopal, also known as NIT-Bhopal and Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), is an institute of Engineering and Technology located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was established in 1960 by the Government of India and classified as Institute of National Importance under the National Institute of Technology Act. The institute is named after first Minister of Education, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and it was inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru, the former Prime Minister of India,.

The campus of NIT-Bhopal occupies land of 650 acres and located on a beautiful plateau in the heart of Bhopal. The campus has its own residential area including 9 hostels with mess and good security. The hostel has been divided into two parts boys hostel and girls hostel. There are 7 hostels for boys and 1 for girls. IIt also have, computer center, workshops, canteen, sports complex, gym, athletic ground, energy center and auditorium. The administrative department have a management team which includes Director (Dr. Appu Kuttan K.K. Director MANIT), Dean (Dr. Alka Bharat -Dean Faculty Welfare), Dr. Ganga Agnihotri -Dean Academic, Dr. Geeta Agnihotri -Dean Research & Consultancy, Dr. R. M. Sarvaiya -Dean Student Welfare, Dr.P.K. Jain -Dean P & D and Registrar (Dr. Appu Kuttan K.K).

NIT-Bhopal offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programs. The admission process for undergraduate is through All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) and for post graduation programs the admission process is through GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) and for Ph.D programs the admission process is through group discussion and personal interviews. For Masters in Business Administration programs the admission process is through CAT/MAT and for Masters in Computer Application the procedure is through NIMCET. The academic departments of NIT-Bhopal includes Architecture and Planning, Applied Mechanics, Agrotechnology, Bioinformatics, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Applications, Statistics, Computer Science and Engineering, Geo-engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Studies, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Material Science, Humanities & Social Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, and Metallurgical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Physical Education & Sports Science, Energy Science & Engineering and Water Resources Engineering(proposed).
