National Institute of Technology - NIT Goa, Bandora, South Goa, Goa

National Institute of Technology Goa, commonly known as NIT Goa or NITG, is and Institute of Technology and Engineering, located in Goa, India. It was established in th the year 2010 by the Government of India , it is among the 30 National Institutes of Technology and also addressed as an Institute of National Importance.

The campus occupies the area of 300 acres and located at Farmagudi, which is around 30 km south of Panaji, the capital of Goa. At present NIT-Goa is operating under the accommodation of Goa Engineering College (GCE). However, the permanent campus for NIT Goa has already been decided. It offers four year B.Tech program and has three academic departments along with 298 students , 19 faculties and over 20 staff members . The department of NIT-G includes Electrical and Electronic Engineering , Electronics and communication engineering and computer science engineering.,Admission process for NITG is through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)and DASA, Direct Admission to Students Abroad, for non-resident Indian students . NITG take about 30 foreign students per year for each branch of Institute.NIT-G also reserve 50% of seat for local students (Goa Students) and 50% seats are for students across India.

NIT Goa is managed by the institute’s Board of Government and it has representative from All India Council for Technical Education, Government of India, Government of Goa, University Grants Commission, illustrious Indian scientist or technologists and the institute faculty.

Facilities for students at campus includes laboratories, Conference hall, administrative section and various classroom along with multimedia projector and internet access. At the present there are around two hundred and ninety eight students enrolled in NIT_G B.Tech program, ninety seven students for computer science and engineering , ninety four students for electrical and electronics and hundred and seven for communication engineering. National Institute of Technology Goa also organise various activities and festival at its campus for students which involve technical activities and cultural events. These events are students and students organisation on the campus.
