National Institute of Technology - NIT Kurukshetra, Kurukshetra, Haryana

National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, also known as NITK or NIT-Kurukshetra, is a public institute of engineering and technology, located in Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. Earlier, it used to be known as Regional Engineering college, Kurukshetra. This college was established in 1963 by the Government of India and was classified as National Institutes of Technology, in 2002 with the status of Deemed University. Professor Anand Mohan is the director of NIT-K.

The campus of NIT-K is spread out in the area of 330 acres and located in the city of Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The admission process for undergraduate program is through AIEEE, All India Engineering Entrance Examination. AIEEE exams includes 3 sections, Chemistry, Mathematics and physics, students gets admission on the basis of grades they score in these examination. Students should have minimum score of 60% marks in AIEEE and 40% marks in 10+2 examination. For foreign students the admission process is through DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) mode. For post graduation programs the admission process is through ,Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) organised by Indian Institute of Technology as well as Indian Institute of Science. For MCA program the admission mode is through NIMCET and CATor JMET for MBA programs. The final selection takes place when candidates get good grades in Group Discussion or Personal Interview.

The academic departments of NIT-K are Computer Engineering, Information Technology Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Other departments includes MEchanical engineering, Business Administration, Physics, Humanities, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer application and Electronics and Communication engineering. NIT-K also have four schools at its campus which includes School of VLSI Design and Embedded Systems, School of Renewable Energy and Efficiency, School of Biomedical Engineering and School of Material Science and Nanotechnology.

Students life at NIT-K campus is full of fun, competition and enthusiasm. NIT-K provide excellent activities at the campus to keep students busy. It has five technical activities which is called MICROBUS, ELECTRORECK, TECHOBYTE, MECHSOC and INFRASTRUCTURE. The cultural activities which organised by NIT-K are MAD(Music and Dramatics), Photography, Fine Arts and Modelling, English Literature and Debate Club, Hindi Literature and Debate Club, SAC, Spic Macay and AVA(Audio Visual Aid). Apart from these activity there are three major annual festival which is organized by NIT-K and it is called Tech Spardha, Entrepreneurship Summit and confluence.
