National Institute of Technology Raipur, also known as NIT Raipur, is a public Institute of Engineering and Technology, located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. It was established in 1956, by the government of India and also classified as Institute of National Importance under the act of National Institute of Technology, 2007. The first foundation stone of NIT-Raipur was laid by the first President of India, Ranjendra Prasad. Till late 1963, NIT-Raipur was among only three technical institute in the country who offered mining and metallurgical engineering.
NIT-Raipur offers two undergraduate programs (B.Tech and B.Arch) and two postgraduate programs (M.Tech and MCA). Admission process for undergraduate course is through All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by CBSE. Postgraduate admission mode is through, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE), for MCA, the admission process if through NIMCET. The reservation policy made by Supreme Court of India is followed by NIT-Raipur, they have 27% of reservation for OBC class, 7.5% for STs class and 15% for SCs class.
