The Nilamber Pitamber University is an autonomous state University located in the town of Medininagar, state of Jharkhand, India. The university was established in the year of 2009 by the State Government of Jharkhand to cater to the needs of aspiring students from the districts of Garhwa, Palamu and Latehar in the state of Jharkhand. The goal of the University is to fulfill the needs of the local, deprived, but talented community for higher education. The University offers various courses for undergraduate, postgraduate, vocational and technical students in the fields of engineering, journalism and medicine.
The University offers postgraduate courses in Hindi, English, Philosophy, Economics, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Chemistry, Physics Science, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Commerce and Mathematics. To apply to the University one must first procure the admission forms for the course they would like to apply in at the respective counter from the college campus. Students will be selected according to the rules of the University and its respective department. The list, once confirmed, will be posted near the department office dealing with postgraduates. Once selected, and the verification of the students documentations is complete, the students have to pay the requisite fee before admission is granted. Every postgraduate course at the University has a total of 16 exams. Each year of post graduation will involve 8 exams and some subjects such as psychology and chemistry will have practical exams too. The University also offer a one year postgraduate diploma in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication. The Nilamber Pitamber University will soon be commencing its distance education programme as well.
