The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan is an autonomous and public institute of higher education located in the capital city of India, New Delhi. The University was founded in the year of 1970 to further the development and propagate the learning of Sanskrit language and related research fields. The University is a deemed University and has received funds for its continued existence from the Government of India. The University Grants Commission, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher and Secondary Education, Government of India, declared the University to be a deemed University on the 7th of May 2002.
The main campus of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan is equipped with facilities and amenities such as the Computer Center, a Modern Conference Hall, a Library, a Committee Room, a Sales Center, a Guest room and a Canteen among many others. The University has various other campuses in Allahabad, Puri, Jammu, Guruvayoor, Lucknow, Jaipur, Sringeri, Bhopal, Vedvyas and Mumbai. The various courses offered at the different campuses of the University include courses in Acharya, Shiksha Shastri, Shastri, Prak Shastri, Shiksha Acharya and Vidya Varidhi. The admission procedure for the University involves simple filling a form and submitting it to the relevant Department.
The University, in addition to its 10 campuses, has 23 Adarsh Sanskrit Maha Vidyalayas and Shodh Sansthans in addition to 84 Sanskrit Institutions all around the country. The Ganganath Jha campus in Allahabad is a research institute of the University, and is unique as being the only Sanskrit research Institute in the country.
