Sri Krishnadevaraya University is a public university for higher education, research and learning and is located in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 1981 by the Government of India. The university is named after former Vijayanagara empire Sri Krishnadevaraya, he was passionate about learning and the arts. Mr. E.S.L. Narasimha is the Chancellor and Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy is the vice-chancellor of the Sri Krishnadevaraya University.
The campus of the university occupies the land of 500 acres and surrounded by lush, greenery and landscape. The facilities offered by university are science instrumentation centre, health centre, computer centre, gymnasium, stadium, sports club, labs, library, residential area for staff members, hostel (separate for boys and girls) and canteen. The university offers undergraduate, B.Sc, B.Com, Post Graduate, B.E, B.Tech, M.Phil and Ph.D programs for students. There are 6 academic departments of university which includes language and literature department, social sciences department, physical sciences department, life science department, law department and management department. The admission process for undergraduate program is through common entrance test, EAMCET, which is conducted by the Government of the Andhra Pradesh, through this entrance exam, students can get admission into all colleges of Engineering, medicine and agriculture. Admission for undergraduate programs for LLB, is based on the candidates performance in Common Entrance test (LAWCET), which is conducted by Government of Andhra Pradesh. Admission for Post Graduate M.E, M.Tech, M.Pharm, M.Phil, Ph.D is based on the student’s performance in GATE exams, which is conducted by S.K.U.
